Availability is the property that information is accessible and modifiable in a timely fashion by those authorized to do so.
Availability related problems: 403 error, 404 error (may be seen on sites like Infinite Campus), etc.
Methods to Ensure Availability
Denial of Service (DOS)
Denial of Service (DOS): An attempt to overload a website or network to degrade its performance or render it inaccessible.
Physical Protection
Infrastructure is meant to keep information available even during physical challenges.
Ex: Signal barriers to prevent attempts of interference.
Computational Redundancies
Computers and storage devices that serve as fallbacks in the case of failures.
Ex: Backup files, backup stored in USBs, backup computer devices to access when a problem occurs, etc.
